Many of you guys are familiar with brass knuckles, those intimidating metal devices for making punches more damaging and bloody. The July 2008 Supplement to the CIPA Journal reveals U. S. Patent 5,823,572 for notepad knuckles, the notepad having edges shaped so as to allow a person to get a very strong grip on the notepad to use it as a self-defense weapon. Note the spiral (8' in the drawing) that exploits its serrated structure as an additional wounding surface.
