Monsanto writes law for Iraq
The May 2008 Vanity Fair article on Monsanto, discussed previously, has another interesting tidbit on page 160:
"One of L. Paul Bremer's last acts as head of the Coalition
Provisional Authority was an order stipulating that Iraqi
'farmers shall be prohibited from re-using seeds of
protected varieties'."
The economy has been reduced to chaos, and then it is expected to comply with all IP laws.
